Fists Of Steel, and it was Daniel retained his title but with a heavy battle. Anthony was not planning to hand it to him on a silver platter, but Bruwer prevailed and retained his title in the 12th round with a TKO against all critics. Daniel is now ranked at no 25 out of 665 boxers in the world.

Other big fights on the night was:

Osborne Machimane vs Myan Solomons for the SA Heavyweight Title
Zolile Mbityi vs Hawk makepula for the IBO Junior Bantamweight Championship of the world
Silence Mabuza vs Damien Marchiano for the IBO Bantamweight Championship of the world

Well now we will have to wait and see what will be the next step for Bruwer.

Daniel will be defending his title at Emperors Palace on the 31st of May 2008 against Anthony van Niekerk. Anthony is a former South African Middelweight Title holder with a record of 27 Bouts- 5 Losses- 2 Draws and 20 wins with 12 being by way of knockout. His current world ranking is 60th of 647 boxers in the light heaveyweight division.

On the 4th of April 2008 Daniel Bruwer stood tall against the Australian Komgrit Nanakorn. The fight went the distance and after 8 rounds Bruwer won by points.

The referee's scored the fight

John Cauchi | judge: Brian McMahon 79-73 | judge: Bernie McMahon 80-72 | judge: Mick Heafey 77-75 in favor of Bruwer.

Bruwer's record to date is 20 Bouts- 1 Loss- 1 Draw- and 18 wins with 15 being by way of knockout

Bruwers next Fight will be in sunny South Africa where he will be defending his title.

Lords of the Ring at Emperor's Palace, and Billy the Kid became a Lord on the Night when he knocked Soon Botes down in the 10th round to win the SA Light Heavy Weight Title by way of TKO. Bruwer was giving it his all and few times in the earlyer rounds he could have finished it but did not. Both fighters was going at it hard with a low blow here and a headbutt there, but the referee kept the boxers under control. Bruwer is now with some of the top SA boxers that has held this title before, boxers like Hottie van Heerden, Mike Holt, Pierrie Fourie just to name a few of the elite and wonderful.

Some sources tell us that Daniel Bruwer will start embarking on an international journey with his first stop to be in Europe, these are all speculations so we will have to wait and see what does his trainer Mr Nick du Rant and the promotors decide where to go from here.

After the fight i had a quick chat with Bruwer and he said that he is thinking of going for bigger gold now, he say's ''When the time is right i will go for the world title there is no use stopping now''.

It was an exciting night at the Palace and with some great fights. Keep watching this space for more information on when we will be able to see Bruwer in action again.
